It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert W. Haviland Sr. of Hillsdale, Michigan, who passed away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Haviland and Grace Haviland (Wells); his former wife Joann Cheney; his wife Carol Murphy (DeFouw); his daughter Laura Jo Haviland; and his sisters, Mary Ellen Bailey (Dallas) and Margaret Alice Muir (James).
He is survived by: his children, Robert Haviland Jr. (Sara) of Hillsdale, Melody Verde (Eric) of Fremont, Indiana, Benjamin Murphy (Kathy) of Frankfurt, Rebecca Wyse (Chris) of Jackson and Maureen Krueger (Charles) of Big Rapids. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
