With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Alvin Paul Vander Ploeg (Holland, Michigan), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 6, 2025 at the age of 96. Though Alvin Paul Vander may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Alvin Paul Vander touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Ploeg and Evelyn Vander Ploeg; his wife Beatrice Vander Ploeg; his brother Lavern Vander Ploeg; and his sister-in-law Rosalyn Vander Ploeg.
He is survived by: his children, Sue Freriks (Chuck), Dr. Douglas Vander Ploeg (Betsy), Kelly Vander Ploeg (Christi) and Randy Vander Ploeg (Connie); his brother Mike Vander Ploeg (Carrie); and his close friend Lois Vander Zwaag. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Community Reformed Church (10376 Felch St, Zeeland, MI 49464). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
