He is survived by: his wife Ann Nieuwkoop; his children, Andy Nieuwkoop (Andrea Marat) and Jessica Nieuwkoop (Matt Snell); his grandchildren, Cooper, Charlotte, Marius and Anders; his siblings, Jo Ann Kovac (Keith) and David Nieuwkoop (Dan Lane); and his siblings-in-law, Ed Miner, Grant Miner and Colleen Sherburne.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Steve Hecht Memorial Scholarship at GVSU.
