With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Benjamin Ernest Van Dis (Holland, Michigan), born in Saugatuck, Michigan, who passed away on May 29, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his children, Douglas Van Dis and Jeanne Van Dis; his parents, Benjamin Dis and Irene Van Dis; his in-laws, Louis and Alma DeWaard; and his sisters-in-law, Karyl Van Dis and Elaine Van Dam.
He is survived by: his wife Loie Van Dis; his children, Laura, Mark Ebbers, Steve and Nancy Van Dis; his grandchildren, Joel, Kara Ebbers, Anna, Matt Beck, Leah, Josh Mugford, Steven Guy Van Dis and Wilson Van Dis; his great grandchildren, Braeden, Emma Ebbers, Cora, Oliver, Bella Beck, Laura, Andrew and Ben Mugford; and his siblings, Bertus Van Dis, Pauline (Daryl Wabeke), Jim (Gloria DeWaard) and Jack DeWaard. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews & cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Central Wesleyan Church (446 W 40th St, Holland, MI 49423). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions in Ben's honor may be given to Central Wesleyan Church Missions.
