He was predeceased by: his parents, Harriet Masselink and Wilmur Masselink; his brother Glenn Masselink; his stepfather Albert Luurtsema; and his stepsister Janice Luurtsema.

He is survived by: his wife Carla Masselink; his children, Ilse Saewert (Andy) of Holland, Reid Masselink (Nathalie) of Bourron-Marlotte, France and Braden Masselink (Megan) of Jackson, Wyoming; and his grandchildren, Anna, Reid, Sean Saewert, Ceres, Constantin, Ilse Anne Marie Masselink, Addison and Knox Masselink.

In his memory, donations may be made to the Holland Hospital Development Fund and Christ Memorial Church.
