He was predeceased by: his parents, John Jansma and Agnes Jansma (Eisenga); his former wife Alice Klepper; his brother Edward; and his brother-in-law Samuel Dean.
He is survived by: his wife Dian Johnson Jansma of Holland, MI; his children, Jill Jansen of Pella, IA, Jeff Jansma (Tracy) of Holland, MI and Jerry Jansma (Cathy) of Kalamazoo, MI.; his grandchildren, Jodi Keske (Mat), Tyler Gentile (Michael), Lauren Ackermann (Shane), Trevor Jansma-Kleis (Sydney), Drew Jansma, Kollen Jansma (Ashley Longtine) and Lindsay Chartier (Jason); his great grandchildren, Madison Keske, Owen Keske, Isabelle Ackermann, Elijah Ackermann, Elwood Williams and Jubilee Ackermann; and his siblings, Velma Dean and Roger Jansma (Karen).
