He was predeceased by: his wife Marie J. Geenen; his brother Jack De Vries; and his parents-in-law, Esther De Vries, Cornelia Dokter, Don Dokter, Sophia Hamberg, Betty Beyer, Pete Beyer, Adrian Geenen, Gloria Geenen, Jean Geenen and Dick Geenen.

He is survived by: his children, Jan, John Ubels of Jenison, Phil, Gayle De Vries (Triemstra) of Holland, Mark and Jewel De Vries (Purdy) of Ellicott City, MD; and his parents-in-law, John, Louise Geenen, Jim Hamberg and Ann Geenen. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.
