She was predeceased by: her father William Moerdyk; her husband Dr. George Hoekstra; her siblings, William John Moerdyk and Elizabeth Short (William); and her daughter-in-law Dr. Vanessa Ameen.
She is survived by: her sons, Lou (Beth), Jim (Sheryl), Bill (Casandra) and Dick Hoekstra (Susan); and her sister Margaret Dansby (Donald). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
