He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Schurman and Laura Schurman (Brower); his brother Ross Schurman; and his brother-in-law Ron Voss. He is survived by: his wife Dawn; his children, Steve Schurman (Amanda), James Schurman (Cyndy) and Sara Moore; his grandchildren, Taryn, Tyler, Ryann, Teddy, Cody, Liam and Tristan; and his in-laws, Dave Voss (Pat), Mary Voss and Mary Lou DeVries.
