He was predeceased by: his parents, Geraldine Oonk and Edmund Oonk; his brother Ross; and his sister-in-law Kate. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Oonk of Holland, MI; his daughters, Betsy Schutzenhofer (Jim) and Sally Becktel (Troy); his brother Scott Oonk; his siblings-in-law, Dawn Oonk, Jerry Becksford (Loie), Dale Becksford (Barb), Gloria Becksford and Lee Becksford (Sue); his grandchildren, Whitney Brown (Jordan), Alyssa Marsh (Zach), Emily Bolthouse (Alex), Jennica Schaffer and Joshua Schutzenhofer (Raquel); his stepgrandchildren, Mitchell Becktel, Dakota Becktel and Lexi Anzaldua; and his great grandchildren, Sydney, Connor, Hailey, Bo and Luke Brown. He is also survived by two step-great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
