He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Spencer and Irene Spencer; his wife Pauline Spencer; and his brother James Spencer. He is survived by: his daughters, LaVonne Burford, Tammy Owen (Brian), Angela Spencer and Amy March (Jeff); and his sister Agnes Jean Vander Plow. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
