He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schans and Geraldine Schans; his in-laws, Lewis and Faye Cornell; and his brother-in-law Kirk Cornell.
He is survived by: his wife Roxanne Cornell; his son Cjason Lee Schans; his siblings, Larry Schans (Shirley), Renald Schans (Dorothy), Jane Kuipers (Jack) and Marietta Schut (Jim); and his brother-in-law Lester Cornell (Karen). He is also survived by Several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Overisel Reformed Church (4706 142nd Ave, Holland, MI 49423). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
