He is survived by: his wife Pat; his sons, Jay Updegraff (Julie) and Mike Updegraff (Sandy); his grandchildren, Stephanie Brown (Chloe) of Elisabeth Updegraff, J. T. and Alex Updegraff; his great grandchildren, Sage Brown and Avery Updegraff; his brother Ken Updegraff (Pat); and his brother-in-law Dennis Lamb (Janet). He is also survived by many extended family and friends.

“Tom Updegraff was the Assistant Principal of WOHS while I was a student there. As a senior, I was the student council president. There was a long teacher strike that fall. Mr. Updegraff was a wonderful mentor, guiding me through the complex situations and supporting my ideas to bring the school together. He was a true leader. Thankfully, I got to see Tom and Pat at my mom's 80th birthday 3 years ago. They were as exuberant as ever. Blessed are those who die in the Lord, there works follow them.”
