He was predeceased by: his mother Jennie Spoor (Feitsma); his wife Patricia Spoor (Prince); his daughter Brenda DeFouw; and his sisters, Betty Koppenaal and Fayne Hoezee.

He is survived by: his father Herman Spoor; his daughter Jamie Boersen (Robert Boersen); his grandchildren, Zachary Boersen and Aubrie Boersen (Louay Aldakhel); his great grandchildren, Laila and Zara Aldakhel; and his sister-in-law Pat Prince. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“Jim was our neighbor at Hidden Creek for the past 5 years. We had many many conversations with him - several about food! He was also our delivery man. He’d call us up and say “do you like ___?” If the answer was yes, pretty soon, there he’d be either at our door or in his car out in front. I’m so glad I got the chance to have one last conversation with Jim at Appledorn. I left him after his last food tip - Captain Sundae’s has good pulled pork. My husband Peter will miss our friend Jim.”
