James Balfour Smith Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 21, 2023, at the age of 91, James Balfour Smith (Holland, Michigan), born in Belding, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Karl Smith and Wilma Smith; and his wife Barbara Smith. He is survived by: his daughter Colleen Ball; his son-in-law Tom; his son Aaron Smith; his daughter-in-law Bridget; his grandchildren, Travis, Sarah (Kirk), Nicole (Landon), Danielle and Zachary; his great grandchildren, Deakon, Douglas, Adeline and Virgil; and his brother Richard Smith.
Memorial contributions in Jim's honor may be given to the Braille and Talking Book Library. Checks can be made payable to the "Library of Michigan Foundation" with a note on the memo line indicating "BTBL", and mailed to: Library of Michigan Foundation, PO Box 11027, Lansing, MI 48901.
