He was predeceased by: his father Ron Bieke; and his sister Susan Neilson. He is survived by: his mother Sheila Bieke; his significant other Kathy VonIns; his sons, Michael Bieke (Liz), Kevin Bieke and Tim Garcia-Wright (Alex); his significant other's son Wyatt VonIns (Becca); his siblings, Tom Bieke (Diane) and Sheila Cutshall (Brad); Henry and Jack.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jimmy's memory to the Cow Hill Yacht Club of Southwest Michigan, a charitable organization dedicated to helping those in need throughout the Saugatuck and Douglas communities. Contributions can be made online at cowhill.org/donate.
