He was predeceased by: his son Joseph Hutta III; his parents, Joseph Hutta and Jean Hutta; his parents-in-law, Jonathan (Bud) and Mae Slagh; and his sister Virginia Kooyers (Bill).

He is survived by: his wife Jane Hutta (Slagh); his grandchildren, Jordon Hutta and Alysha Hutta; his siblings, Will Hutta (Margret), Bev Molengraaf (Jerry), John Hutta, Mike Hutta (Kerry), Dave Hutta (Sally), Mary Redder and Rose Bishop (Mark); his sister-in-law Mary Timmer (Larry); Kris Hutta. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
