He was predeceased by: his parents, William Schaap and Susan Schaap (Boeve) of Holland, Michigan.. He is survived by: his wife Marlene; his children, Kristi Lemmen (Roger) and Jack Schaap (Traci); and his grandchildren, Tami Parks (Jeff), Thomas Lemmen (Alana), Jaclynn Weber (Todd) and Ken Schaap (Candace). He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.

The family also requests that any funeral tributes be made as donations to Hospice of Holland.
