He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hoeve and Gertie Hoeve; his daughter Kathy Merrill; and his siblings, Marjorie Anderson, Harvey Hoeve, Howard Hoeve, Carolyn Harsevoort and Roger Hoeve.

He is survived by: his children, Craig Hoeve, KayLynn Beltman (Tom), Shari DeRoos (Brian), Karen Young, Kevin Hoeve (Lisa), Marcy Grayson (Doug) and James Albers (Diana); his wife Judy; his siblings, Herman Hoeve, Martha VanderPloeg, Joyce Stempfly, Evelyn Hoekje (Harverd), Gloria Culver (Lou), Mary Lou Bremer (Merle), Nancy Corvers, Sally Janssen (John) and Larry Slagh (Jackie); his mother-in-law Eleanor Slagh; and his sister-in-law Marge Hoeve. He is also survived by his twenty grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
