We announce the death of Sylvia J. Dykstra (Holland, Michigan), who passed away on July 2, 2026, at the age of 97. Sylvia will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Harry Blystra and Louise Blystra; her husband Simon; her son-in-law David Raffenaud; and her in-laws, Nicholas Blystra (Juliet), Juliet Ensing (Lucas), Wilma, Cornelia Arens (Harold), Harold Blystra (Irene), Andrew Blystra (Arlynn), Harriet Haverdink (Harvey), Martha Terpstra (Jacob), Louise Lanninga (Kenneth), Willard, Julia and Mary Jane.
She is survived by: her children, Sue VanderHeide (Dave) of Holland, Jane Dykstra of Traverse City, Krista Raffenaud of Fennville and Dan Dykstra (Jodi) of Hartland, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Jen VanderHeide (Sarah Jacobson), John VanderHeide (Tfawa Haynes), Ky VanderSchrag (Allie), Mark VanderHeide, Simon Dykstra, Sam Dykstra, Talia Dykstra and Elijah Dykstra; and her great grandchild Skye VanderSchrag.
