He is survived by: his children, Barbara Martinie (Mark) and Tom Buis (Bonnie); his grandchildren, Emily Johnson (Bryce), Anne Valenzuela (Orlando), Mikayla Bronkema (Isaac), Jessica Hunter (Dom), Taylor Buis and Tommy Buis; and his great grandchildren, Gabriella, Joanna Bronkema, Elliot, Morgan Johnson and Hampton Lou Hunter.
