He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Folkert and Anna Folkert (Kronemeyer); his wife Jereen Folkert (Rynbrandt); and his siblings, Evelyn Boers, Rev. Robert Folkert and Irvin Folkert.

He is survived by: his children, Ruth (Ernie Trippy), Rose (Henry Moore), Jan (Mack Whitford), Jim (Cindy Folkert) and Matt (Pam Folkert). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions to Overisel Reformed Church Mission fund, or Resthaven.
