He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. Sr. Black and Mildred Black (Dixon). He is survived by: his wife Carolyn (Brink); his children, Kristina Smith (Keith) and Kevin Black; his grandchildren, Elliana Harig (Logan), Serena Essenburg (Nicholas), Marlaina Smith and Josiah Smith; his brother Richard Black; and his sister-in-law Karen Brink. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
The military honors was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the Central Wesleyan Church (446 W 40th St, Holland, MI 49423).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideon's Foundation in memory of Mr. Black.
