He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Gort and MaryAnn Gort. He is survived by: his siblings, Tim, Lisa Gort, Cindy and Kevin VerMerris; and his siblings' children, Zachary, Annalisa Gort (Georgina), Shelby, Nathan Reimink, Allyssa Thornton (Sofiya) and Nicole VerMerris. He is also survived by aunts, uncle, and several cousins.
