He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann VanderVelden (Greene); his sons, Mathew and David VanderVelden; his stepchildren, Lisa Reich (Thomas), John Gilbert, Greg Gilbert (Jill), Kenneth Gilbert (Kristi) and Chong Gilbert; and his sisters, Marlene Mokma and Elaine Van Wieren.
