He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezra Mitchell and Lavone Mitchell (Elliott); his wife Bobbie Jean; his siblings, Clara Wilson (Kyle), George Mitchell (Evelyn), Marlene Buttigieg (Eddie), Sue Kielan (Leonard), Jan Labut (Frank), Don Mitchell (Joann) and Robert Mitchell; and his in-laws, Robert, Elizabeth Ann Ferrell and Brenda Sue Ferrell.
He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Ann Vario and Greg Ferrell (Mary). He is also survived by nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
