He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gerald Donald and LaDonna Sue LaFerney (Moore); his wife Glenda Lynn Dobbs of Fenton, Michigan.; his children, Rhonda LaFerney (Tommy) of Fenton, Gerald "Jerry" LaFerney of Holly and Leta Sugg (Michael) of Naples, FL.; his grandchildren, Brandon Nixon, Tyler Bissionette, Rachelle LaFerney, Austin LaFerney, Kyle Sugg (Brionna), Kayla Sugg, Veronica Julite (Derrick), Katie Jackson (Vinnie), Allyson Benner (Tom), Andrew Jackson (Torri), Jace, Gavin, Hayden, Landon and Katie Jelinek; his great grandchildren, Ryaura, Carter, Ava, Kennedy, Theo, Maeve, Rowan, Eddie, Alaina, Brenden, Sebastian and Ellie; his siblings, Sue Dobbs (Harry), Steve LaFerney, Raymond Berndt (Rita) and Dana Pietka (Greg); his daughter Carey Jackson; his son-in-law Larry Jackson; and his sister-in-law Cora LaFerney.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel (1000 W Silver Lake Rd, Fenton, MI 48430). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
