He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Chaffee (Grinnell) and Donald Chaffee; and his siblings, Joyce (Pullum), Carol (O'Neill) and Robert.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; and his children, Cheryl Bemis (Kevin), Michele Jones (Walt), Mark (Ruth) and Jill Bennett (Tony). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
