He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard A. Berry and Helen Berry (Roberts); his siblings, Josephine LaFollette (George), Betty Miller (Ken), Eugene Berry (Arlene) and Jack Berry; and his grandson Travis Foos.

He is survived by: his wife Ila Gene Berry (Owens); his daughters, Jean Logan of Jackson, Vicky Owen of Jackson, Tammie Berry of Grand Haven and Cindy Chapman (Gordon) of Norton Shore; and his sister Linda Berry of Jackson. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Contributions in Howard's memory may be made to Spring Arbor Church of the Nazarene.
