Scott E. Stafford Obituary
Scott E. Stafford, aged 59, passed away peacefully at his residence in Houghton Lake on March 25, 2025. Born on May 18, 1965, in Pontiac, Michigan, he was son of the late Jerry and Joan (Shaw) Stafford. Scott's life was one of vibrant creativity and adventure, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. Scott's journey began in the town where he was born, but his spirit and talents took him to many places. He found love and companionship with his beloved wife, Rita Marie (Roos) Stafford, whom he married on September 28, 2024, in Waterford, Michigan. Their time together, though brief, was filled with joy and mutual adoration.
Scott was father to his daughter, Crystle (Shayne) Gaines, and a proud stepfather to Robert and Richard Murchland. His grandchildren, Dominiq, Journi, Karolina, and Rylen, brought him immeasurable happiness and were the light of his life. Scott is lovingly remembered by his siblings, Thomas Stafford and Kelly Mendola. He was preceded in death by a brother Adam Stafford, whose memory remained dear to him throughout his life. A man of many skills, Scott was well-educated in the trades. He honed his craft at carpentry trade schools and culinary schools, which paved the way for a diverse and fulfilling career. His hands were skilled in the kitchen as a cook at several restaurants, where he delighted patrons with his culinary creations. Scott also worked in rural newspaper delivery, providing a vital service to his community. His craftsmanship as a carpenter was evident in the structures he built and the projects he completed, leaving a legacy of his workmanship in homes and businesses alike. He was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying the thrill and camaraderie of various games. His love for his cats was well-known, as they were his constant companions and a source of comfort and joy. Scott also had a unique passion for collecting skulls, a testament to his adventurous and inquisitive nature. Those who knew Scott would describe him as spirited, a man who embraced life with enthusiasm and courage. He was creative, always finding new ways to express himself and to make the world around him a more beautiful place. His adventurous spirit led him to explore, to learn, and to engage with life in a way that was uniquely his own.
Celebration of his life will be held Saturday March 29, 2025 at 1 pm at the Clare Poderosa on N. Clare Ave. & U.S. 10 Clare Michigan.
