He is survived by : his wife Gloria Schmitt of Houghton; his child Deve Pihlaja (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Travis Pihlaja (Alisha), Kyle Pihlaja (Dallas), Anthony Deluca and Nathan Deluca; his sister Sandi Patana of Hudson, FL.; his sister-in-law Marian Pihlaja of Dollar Bay, His; and his stepchildren, Dale Kus, Craig Kus (Tammy) of Owasso, OK, Marc Kus of Bismark, ND and Jackelyn Dokman (Dave) of Traverse City, MI..
