Donald William Juntunen Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of Donald William Juntunen of Houghton, Michigan. Donald, born on September 29, 1939, passed away on September 22, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William A. Juntunen and Julia Juntunen (Soine); his former wife Elaine Ylitalo; and his children, Elizabeth and Daniel.

He is survived by: his wife Marie Juntunen (Knuuttila); his sons, Dennis Juntunen (Jen) and David Juntunen (Christine); his children-in-law, Alan Perla and Michelle Juntunen; his grandchildren, Melissa Strohm (Michael), Andrew Perla, Sam Juntunen, Ben Juntunen and Grace Juntunen (Mitchell); his great grandchild Merrick Strohm; and his stepchildren, Dave Kangas (Michelle Lepak), Tammy Hilman (Harlan), Gerry Kangas (Jo), Kelly Kitti (Mike Jarvi) and Kara Destrampe (Scott). He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (1000 Quincy St, Hancock, MI 49930). A memorial service was held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
