He is survived by: his wife Paddy Merrill; his sons, James Merrill and Christopher Merrill (Mary); his stepchildren, Sandra Dexter, Brenda Foltz, Frederick Foltz, Maureen Semear (Harold) and Scott Foltz (Tracy); and his siblings, Marcy Shiels and Linda Czerniak. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
