He was predeceased by: his father Robert Hocking. He is survived by: his mother Frances Hocking (Smith); his wife Faye Hocking; his children, John Hocking Jr. (Eva) and Kayley Hocking (Brendan Garvey); his siblings, Robert Hocking (Sue), Steve Hocking (Terri), Gary Hocking (Jill), Anna Sparkman (Doug), Laura Rumohr (Gary) and Marilyn Frazier (Steve); and his grandchildren, Ethan, Mallie and Landon. He is also survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
A reception was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Borek Jennings Funeral Home - Howell Memorial Chapel (1700 W Highland Rd, Howell, MI 48843).
