He was predeceased by : his parents, Ray Ulmer and Jean Ulmer (Heaton). He is survived by : his wife Dianne Ulmer; his daughter Laura Thornton (Mark); his sister Mary Toth; and his grandchild Emersyn. He is also survived by several nephews and a niece.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

“My favorite memories of Mark were his stories of life and our rides together that made me laugh with a genuine feeling of friendship!!! This photo represents the confidence that share when you are ridding side by side at 70 plus MPH!!! You know there is an understanding of the road and you are relaxed even at that speed!!
