He is survived by: his wife Gjeline Turmalaj; his children, Arben Turmalaj (Alfrida) and John Turmalaj (Mimoza); his siblings, Vasel Turmalaj and Vitore Shkurtaj; and his granddaughters, Klea, Emma and Mira. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
