He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Schauer and Margaret Schauer (Kibby). He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Pawlowski; his children, Scott Schauer and Abby Schauer; his siblings, Pam Van Blaricum, Bill Schauer, Chris Schauer, Bob Pawlowski (Elaine), Steve Pawlowski (Rae Lynn) and Linda Thompson (Gary); and his grandchildren, Ainsley, Emrie and Hope. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
