He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Abfalter and Matilda "Tilly" Marlette; his wife Eleanor Abfalter; and his siblings, Joyce Roddy and Tom Abfalter.

He is survived by : his children, Sherri Abfalter (Glen Wiggins), Bob Abfalter (Laurie), Terry Abfalter (Melissa) and Rick Abfalter (Tina); his sisters, Alice Johnson and Carol Gassel; his grandchildren, Brittany, Alex, Cora, Halie, Seth, Madison, Chloe, Gavin and Glenie; and his great grandchildren, Claire and Cleo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
