We announce the death of Tonya Rae Smith of Howell, Michigan, who passed away on July 12, 2026, at the age of 56. Tonya will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her brother Thomas Knox. She is survived by: her parents, Elmer Knox and Terry Knox of Jackson; her daughters, Geneva Smith (Chris Moritz) of Grass Lake and Zealand Cooley (Logan) of Virginia; her grandchildren, Henry, Colleen and Scarlett; and her sister Karla Moody of Georgia.
