He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Hering and Florence Hering (Howard); his children, Anthony Hering and Sandra Hering; his grandson Nicholas Hering; and his siblings, Robert Hering, June Mixsell and Irene Snyder.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Fred Hering (Karen), Nick Hering (Vanessa), Robert Mason (Stacey), Randy Mason (Amy), Tammy North (Eric), Melissa McCallum (Dan), Sue Ann Schmitz (Ed) and Judy Hompstead (Randy); and his close friend Richard Schmidt. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.
