He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold E. Southwell and Mabel Southwell (Dickerson); his wife Alberta Mae Malson; his children, Linda Huff and Sheldon Scott Southwell; and his brother Russell Southwell.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Ries (Jane), Gregg Ries (Pam), Sheila Waltermire (Jeff) and Bret Southwell (Charlotte); his grandchildren, Trent Huff (Jennifer Schmerhorn), Alison Huff, Braxton Southwell (Emma Bineger), Bailey McCaskey (Harley) and Hattie Waltermire; and his great grandchildren, Tyler Huff, Logan Huff and Sutherland McCaskey. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
