It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edward Lewis Smith of Hudson, Michigan, who passed away on July 30, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Coradon Harley and Martha Lavond Smith (Lewis); his brother Harley Smith (Cookie); his grandson Hunter Smith; his son-in-law James Newton; and his brother-in-law Gene Quibble.
He is survived by: his wife Thelma Smith; his children, Bonnie Newton, Lisa Dunlap (Destry), Tonie Luma (Christopher) and Scott Smith (Abbie); his grandchildren, Nichole Dickerson (John), Marianne Wagendorf (Karl), Amanda Allison (Ross), Sarah Phillips (Zach), Erin Luma, Bradley Dunlap (Ashley), Zachary Luma, Courtney Luma and Allison Armstrong; his siblings, Patricia Sanders (Edward), Nancy Quibble, Sherry Clark (John) and Randy Smith (Nancy); and also Thelma Jean Prosser. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Homes - Hudson (504 W Main St, Hudson, MI 49247). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
