He was predeceased by: his parents, John DeVries and Fanny DeVries; and his siblings, Clarence, Jay, John DeVries and Carol Dekkinga (John).

He is survived by: his wife Marcia DeVries; his children, Michelle Dykema (Randy), Leanna Kermeen (Jon), Cara Crouch (Scott), Rebecca Steigenga (Jeff), Alan DeVries (Lauren) and Jonathan DeVries; his sister Hazel Dornbush; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Huizing (Will), Carolyn R. DeVries, Carolyn A. DeVries and Mary Aldrink (Larry). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (4145 Chicago Dr SW, Grandville, MI 49418). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
