He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerritt Kooienga and Joanna Kooienga (Kooiker) of Beaverdam, Michigan.; and his siblings, Andrew, Hank, Ardean, Arnold, Marilyn, Elmer, Jim, Pauline and Pearl.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Helen Kooienga (Batema); his children, Steve (Deb Kooienga), Gayle Kooienga Stasiak, Tim (Rhonda Kooienga) and Tom Stasiak; his grandchildren, Becky, Alex Lemmen, Mauricio Ramos, Jared, Jodi Kooienga, Travis, Kirsten Kooienga, Johnny, Peyton Stasiak, Luke, Rachel Kooienga, Ellyn Stasiak, Leann, Eric Immink and Lauryn Stasiak; his pet Princess; his siblings, John, Wayne, Gerald (Hup), Lloyd, Gerrietta, Marian, Elma, Lorraine, Twila, Joanne and Lois; his siblings-in-law, Ray, Niza Batema, Kathy, Les VandenHeuvel, Barb and Bill Kars; his close friends, Rose and Terry Boeve; Mary. He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren.
