He was predeceased by: his grandmother Frances May. He is survived by: his parents, Chris May and Dawn May; his siblings, CJ Smith, Christopher May and Zoe May; his grandparents, Ron, Donna Force, Harry and Beverly May; his aunts and uncles, Tammy BeGole (Brian), Kurt Force (Sherry), Nikki May and Damon May; and his pet Stella. He is also survived by cousins, and friends.

He later received a scholarship from the Trevon Potter Foundation to assist him in his mechanical career.
