He is survived by: his wife Janice McDougall; his children, Rob McDougall and Rebecca Schaffer (Brian); his grandchildren, Miriam Schaffer, Lydia Schaffer and Odin McDougall; and his sister Margaret Reitz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
