He was predeceased by: his son Travis John Merritt; his parents, Melvin Merritt and Helen Merritt; and his brother Darrel Merritt. He is survived by: his wife Kristi Merritt; his children, Amber, Amanda, Matt Cisler, Corey Merritt and Emily Riley; his grandchildren, Mason Cisler, Kendall Cisler, Brycen Dyk, Pierson Dyk and Easton Merritt; and his siblings, David, Sam Merritt-Shaw, Joanne, Alan Glockner, Gary, Cathy Merritt, Deb (Ken Dykema) and Laurie (Ed Menken). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
