It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Larry Jay Kapenga of Hudsonville, Michigan, who passed away on April 14, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his wife Sue Kapenga. He is survived by : his nephews, Douglas Dipple and Chuck Christensen; his children, Tracy Kapenga, Tim Adams, Tom and Tricia Kapenga; his grandchildren, Seth Brower, Haley, Stephen Pake, Jasmine Kapenga, Malachi Kapenga and Jordyn Kapenga; his great grandchildren, Haven Pake and Jasper Pake; his sisters, Marlene (Tom St. John), Audrey Logan and Sally Kapenga; and his in-laws, Wayne, Terri DeVault, Lauren and Mark James. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the VanderLaan Funeral Home (4917 32nd Ave, Hudsonville, MI 49426). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Hudsonville Reformed Church (3950 Highland Dr, Hudsonville, MI 49426).

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hudsonville Education Foundation or Corewell Health Hospice.
