He was predeceased by: his son Aidan Henning; his parents, Susan Liesveld and Robert L. Powell; his stepfather Lester Henning; and his grandparents, Vern and Margaret Liesveld.

He is survived by: his children, David Henning (Katie), Pamela Brown (Keegan), Bryce Henning (Emily Kreidler) and Kyle Henning; his granddaughter Meadow Henning; his former wife Elizabeth Groot; his siblings, Jodie Rosario, Barb Henning, Trina Sullivan and Kim Penrod; his stepmother Kathy Powell; and his aunt Janet Nigrelli. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
