He was predeceased by: his wife Geneva Poppema; and his son Harlan Poppema. He is survived by: his children, Linda, Dan Schaap, Gregg, Tiffany Poppema, Dean and Chris Poppema; his siblings, Lee Van Meeteren, Jan, Don Dykshoorn and Kathleen Mulder; and his sister-in-law Barb Dozeman. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
